I was once again catering for a Charleston, SC socialite couple’s dinner party. The client’s home was on a bird filled marsh overlooking Folly Island and its’ historical lighthouse. The yard was filled with sprawling, ancient live oaks, marble statues, a reflection pool, and a well kept garden. Many times I was requested to come back for stunning dinner parties, picnics and concerts with famous people. As a party manager, my job was to be sure the clients and their guests were served efficiently, politely and to create a memorable experience. We were not suppose to mingle, call attention to ourselves or chat up a guest. We were but a cog in the machine that made the hosts shine.
